The problem.
Household money in South Africa is usually managed across two people, several bank apps and a spreadsheet that is out of date by the second week of the month. Nobody has one honest picture of what is committed, what is left, and what happens if something changes.
The plan.
In the order we did it.
- 1
Design a single shared view of the household: income, fixed commitments and day-to-day spending, in Rand and on a calendar month.
- 2
Make recurring commitments first-class, so rent, school fees and subscriptions are planned rather than discovered.
- 3
Add what-if scenarios: change one number and see the month move, before making the decision.
- 4
Build it as a fast web application that works well on a phone, with onboarding that gets a couple set up in minutes.
What shipped.
Quantal is live at quantal.co.za with onboarding, a shared dashboard, recurring commitments and scenario planning. It is built for South African households, priced and presented in Rand.
